About

It’s 2024. I’m updating my website for the first time in a while. I’m that guy who always knew what he wanted to do, started playing music when I was 8 or 9 and always found it this vastly mysterious world to explore.. infinite possibilities. I just started writing and recording obsessively when I was around 13 or 14.. met a friend in high School with a synthesizer and a 4 track and recorded with him.. then all through college, recording and playing shows.. then moving to the Bay Area and getting a job at a club in the booking office and having my boss there be a “connector” who helped me get into so many good situations from there on out. Along the way I taught myself Pro Tools, lots of audio engineering, and mostly noticed that if you follow your ears, they’ll tell you everything you need to know.

Sometimes I wonder how aggressive you’re supposed to be in this life. I feel like everything has become kinda aggressive in the age of hyper-content, social media. I’m not particularly interested in that aggression, or competition, really, at least on a large scale. It’s fun to get to submit to a job – and be motivated to win the day, stay up extra late, get that gig.. but overall, I’ve noticed.. I’ve seen people have it all, lose it all, never have anything, seem to have everything.. but time just marches on. Nothing is forever. So if you have this faith in yourself and are just super determined, I can pretty much guarantee.. something will happen if you do it and let it be known. Something. What it is.. what happens. Just isn’t up to you. But I believe that if you enjoy trying and just look at everything as practice, practice, practice, then your energy will be felt by others and people will like having you around. And then.. suddenly you’re doing the thing you were imagining you wanted to be doing. I think this applies to everything in life.

The creative arts are super hard. I don’t think you should try TOO hard, also. Live your life. It flies right by and you want to see stars in the sky, ocean waves, warm breezes.. the whole act of succeeding within our society is very over-rated. It’s mostly just made up ways for us all to create commerce with each other.. no matter how big you get, eventually you’ll be history, then distant history, then ancient history. Imagine some clever cool person in ancient Greece writing songs on their lyre, feeling all the feelings, singing the songs to whoever would listen.. maybe even getting known for it. Everybody loves them. But there’s no recordings no musical notations.. just a life lived to its fullest, lost in history that most people aren’t even aware existed to begin with. So your life, is kind of like a secret, in a way. You get to do whatever you want, and it doesn’t really… matter. Ultimately.

Anyways I really started producing full time about  20 years ago and just by waking up every day and having that to -do list and showing up and doing my best..

I’ve now collaborated, written with, engineered for, mixed, remixed, produced, played the instruments on ( I play guitar, bass, drums, keys, and pretty much everything) for artists like Big Freedia, Handsome Boy Modeling School, MC Lars, Head Automatica, Crudo with Mike Patton, Rondo Brothers, Macy Gray, Galactic, Irma Thomas, Jack Douglas, Bill Bottrell, Prince Paul, Cardboard People, Foster the People, Anna Harrell , Caitlin Cobb-Vialet, Andrew St James, Grooblen, The Beatles, Common, Lily Allen, Jayden Bartels, Eric Lindell, Bernie Worrell, Tipsy, The Gun & Doll Show, Daryl Palumbo, The Kin, Kid Beyond, Angelo Moore ( Fishbone), Barbara, Geographer, War Chant Recordings, Del The Funky Homosapien, Approach, Souls of Mischief, Jane The Message, Quinn Deveaux, Butterscotch, Ian Moore, Patti Page, Lapel, Sarah Lee Guthrie, Johnny Irion, Motion Man, Cyndi Harvell, Lucas Ohio, K Flay, The Soft White Sixties, Coastwise Unrest, Diegos’ Umbrella, Loquat, Static & Surrender, Matt Bennett, Olga Kapustina, Christina Fulton, Britney Reese, El Elle, Whole Milk, Shae Brock, Saalt, Rachel Lark, Anna Harrell, Charly Kerr, Carmen Maria Mitchell, Sierra Alyse, about 25 tv shows, a few films, NFL commercials and more, more… more….coming in 2024
